Local Law Enforcement
Roughly 50 vehicles have been covered with what seems to be human blood in the Germany's town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, police confirm authorities.
Automobiles, building surfaces and mailboxes were vandalized, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they reported in a official communication.
Law enforcement report they were notified in the late hours on Wednesday, when a individual discovered that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a reddish liquid.
The substance had been placed in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they reported.
Police then located numerous other smeared automobiles and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
These symbols are prohibited in Germany under legislation outlawing the public display of Nazi-era symbols.
Law enforcement state initial examinations suggest the fluid was most likely human blood.
"At present there remains no lead as to where it came from; investigators are presently not aware of any harm in connection with the incident," they added.
Local authorities stated they were working "to resolve the incident" and have asked to the community for details.
An important political figure stated the vandalism rendered him speechless and required to be resolved quickly.
"This event affects the center of Hanau and reopens the pain of the far-right violent incident in 2020," he posted on a platform, recalling the murder of nine individuals by a gunman aiming at residents of migrant background in February 2020.
